"Just 10 minutes from Rolleston, this modern complex has a variety of affordable venue spaces for everything from Community meetings and concerts to major indoor sporting fixtures. Standing and Queuing

West Melton Community and Recreation Centre, our car parking is available directly outside the centre's doors so limited walking is required to reach us. If you require assistance from our staff and there is a queue, we can either request another staff member to assist to limit your wait time or offer to sit nearby while retaining your place in the queue. We are more than happy to assist you with your enquiry seated, rather than at the counter if it is easier for you.

Our centre is accessible for those who use wheelchairs. There is wheelchair parking directly outside the facility at West Melton Community and Recreation centre. Access for wheelchair users to the centre via the main door. Our staff are also very vigilant about obstacles that could obscure access, they will ensure that all areas are clear and wheelchair accessible at all times.

For customers who have difficulties with distances, West Melton Community and Recreation Centre staff can support you to have a safe and enjoyable visit. Our staff can help you to find your way around the building for less travelling. The service desk has a chair available nearby if you wish to sit down.
Urgent Toilet Access

For customers that may need urgent access to the toilet, West Melton Community and Recreation Centre staff will orientate you with the location of the facilities when you arrive. We will enable urgent access to any toilet with no questions asked.
Disability Assist Dogs

We welcome registered assistance dogs to accompany their owner into our facility. Our staff can show you where the assistance dog can go to the toilet. If your dog gets thirsty, please let the staff know and they can offer water.

There is no entry fee into West Melton Community and Recreation Centre, everyone is welcome. If you are attending our enrollment-based and paid workshop, class or programme, your +1 is permitted to attend with you to assist you. Please ensure to let us know about your +1 during enrollment.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information

Our staff will be happy to assist by orienting you to the signs in the building and helping you understand written material such as the brochures about our programs, classes and events. If the reception is is too busy for you to concentrate let us know and we will find somewhere quieter.

Please make yourself known to the staff on arrival. If your are attending a meeting, and you use a hearing aid, we have hearing hoop capability and our staff will assist you to get setup. Some staff also know basic sign language so may be able to communicate through this means. Alternatively, we can offer pen and paper and communicate via writing. Room names are signposted, there are directional signs for toilets and emergency exits. When we speak to you, we will look at you and speak in a way that you will be able to understand us. Brochures about our programs, classes and events are available at the service desk.
